Age Policy
This page is written for members, parents and guardians. It applies to all of Winnipeg Casino, covering Promotions, Jackpots, Live Casino and the Lobby, plus our free daily prize draw.
Who is allowed to play?
Winnipeg Casino is strictly for adults aged 19 and over.
Nobody younger than 19 can open an account, make deposits, play games or take part in any offer, and this applies equally to our free daily prize draw, which requires no deposit. We accept accounts solely in regions that permit online gaming, following Canadian rules on minimum age, identity checks and money laundering prevention. Registering on behalf of someone under 19, or letting a minor use your account, is a breach of our Terms of Use.
What happens when a minor is detected on an account?
We close that account straight away and void all winnings.
Where we discover that someone under 19 owns or uses an account, we:
- Block the account straight away
- Cancel all bets, bonuses and winnings
- Return deposits to their original payment method once our checks are complete
- Act to prevent that person from signing up again
An adult who allows a minor onto their account may also have that account closed. If you believe a minor is playing, write to our support address and we will look into it at once.
How can adults keep shared devices safe?
A few simple habits stop young people reaching your account.
- Sign out of your account whenever you finish a session
- Disable saved passwords in your web browser
- Set up a screen lock or a separate user profile on every device that children can access
- Keep payment cards and banking apps somewhere children cannot get to them
- Keep your login details private and change them if you think they are known
What filtering software and parental controls are available?
Free and paid tools can block gambling sites before a child reaches them.
Most smartphones, tablets and computers offer built-in parental controls that limit which websites, apps and purchases a child's profile can reach. Many internet service providers also include content filtering, as do many home routers, which keeps gambling sites off all devices connected at home. Dedicated filtering software adds more tools, including activity reports. All of these are most effective alongside open conversations with children about money and the risks of gambling.
How do we check age?
We verify the age of every member before a deposit can be made.
When you register, we check the information you provide, meaning your home address, birthdate and complete name, against trusted data sources. If that information does not match, we will request government-issued photo identification. You cannot deposit or play until we have confirmed your age. Additional checks may follow where needed, for example when you withdraw or update your account details. Each stage is explained on our Identity Checks page, and our Privacy Notice covers the way we handle your data.
How do I contact us?
